At Frayed, we understand the role that the fashion industry has played in the climate crisis and unethical treatment of garment workers around the world.
Materials
All fabrics at Frayed are custom designed and made to the highest quality, in collaboration with skilled artisans in India. We use solely natural fibre fabrics, with consideration of resource supply and seasonal environmental and geographical factors to ensure that we are having the lowest possible impact on the planet.
Where a natural material is not available to use for accessories, such as zippers or buckles, we use quality, long lasting materials, to ensure it can be used over and over again, even past the life of the garment itself.
Please see our product pages for more detail on the composition of each piece and how it can be disposed of or repurposed responsibly at the end of its life.
Packaging
Frayed the Label packaging is 100% plastic free and home compostable. As much as we all love the unboxing experience, we keep our packaging to a minimum to avoid unnecessary consumption. We strongly encourage our customers to dispose of all packaging responsibly.
To give you an idea of why this is so important to us here's a quick explanation... when organic waste is disposed of incorrectly with general waste or recycling it is starved of oxygen and as a result emits methane when it breaks down. When organic waste is disposed of correctly in a composting environment, it emits carbon dioxide as it breaks down. Methane is 28 times more harmful to our environment than carbon dioxide and therefore disposing of your organic waste correctly has a huge impact in our fight against climate change.

We ship all orders to customers using Australia Post through their carbon offsetting program.
All samples and production packages delivered from India are sent via DHL. Frayed the Label pay additional fee's through the DHL 'Go Green Climate Neutral' program to ensure all packages sent through DHL are carbon offset.
